The seminar focused on: introducing current products to the Chinese market; creating and rolling out a Marcom strategy to accelerate sales of products built in the USA; finding and negotiating supply contracts with outsourcing partners; obtaining preferential treatment from the Chinese government; forming relationships with trustworthy professional service (accountants, attorneys, bankers and freight forwarders) providers; selecting the corporate structure most appropriate for your business; building a sound intellectual property protection plan; securing financing to support growth in Asia; and quickly building a robust and profitable new subsidiary.

Speakers included Dan Lobdell, Vice President and Global Relationship Manager of HSBC, Gene Nesbeda, of CITIC Provident Management Ltd., Mitchell Greenhill, Executive Director of the International Tax Practice of Grant Thornton, LLP and Dong Chi Zhang, Vice CEO of the Suzhou Industrial Park Administrative Committee. The keynote speaker was Jack Daniels, founder and president of EastBridge Partners.

The roster of speakers all has well-established track record in launching and managing businesses in China and the Asia-Pacific region and provided a great roadmap for the attendees”.

Robert Tedesco, an attorney with Rich May, PC moderated the event and said, “It’s clear that there is a large group of technologically advanced customers in New England, which is ready to establish a physical presence in China. I believe that the time is right to create a foothold there and participate in China’s quickly expanding economy”.
